I would like to welcome you to the Asheville Area Piano Forum (AAPF) website. This is the single most valuable resource for all things piano in the western North Carolina region. Whether you are a piano enthusiast, student, teacher, performer or technician, our organization offers numerous resources to help connect you to a community of over 100 piano-loving members. Search our professionals.
As a non-profit organization, our main purposes are to promote the appreciation of the piano, to enhance its pedagogy and performance and to provide educational and charitable opportunities for WNC piano teachers, their students and the greater community. Read our mission statement.
Here are just a few of the many programs we offer:
These groups allow members of all skill levels to test out pieces in front of a warm and friendly audience in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere with light food and drinks. Read more.
The Forum sponsors a minimum of three student recitals: two solo recitals in the Fall and Spring and an ensemble recital during the Winter. Read more.
Student Assistance / Keys for Kidz
Many families struggling to afford piano lessons are benefiting by subsidies given through the Student Assistance fund. Meanwhile, underserved children who likely would never have had the opportunity to take piano lessons in the first place are receiving group lessons through the Keys for Kidz program. Read more about these programs and please consider donating to the AAPF to help ensure these programs continue. Donations can be given online here or by mailing your tax deductible gift to:

Presentations / Masterclasses
Immediately following our five bimonthly meetings each season, we offer a variety of programs designed to appeal to piano performers, teachers, students and music enthusiasts. See the listing.
The AAPF presents two very popular Benefit Concerts every Fall and Spring. These concerts feature a number of pianists, performing a range of solos and two-piano music in a variety of styles. Sample some of these high caliber performances here.
All proceeds from our Benefits go towards the Student Assistance Fund, which in recent years has given out an average of over $10,000 per year.
And last of all, I hope you will consider joining this thriving community of piano lovers. Find out how to become a member.
I look forward to the chance of meeting you,
Composer, Pianist & AAPF President
